Hi,
I read often about using charcoal, lemon and Alka Seltzer Gold for herxing. Can someone please give more detail? I always thought charcoal causes constipation. When and how would someone take these things when not feeling well? Thanks

Gnnmi

I never took any of the three things you mention. Lemon water was too caustic for my mouth and esophagus. I found other ways.

Many people vary the support methods for what works best for their body . . . and it's also best to have a good"ILADS' trained or informed" LLMD or LL ND to offer the best treatment plan & Support methods for your body, the infections on board for you --

the basic support guide is for the

best nutrition; best self care habits

& most gentle liver support, the most comprehensive that will cover a lot of the bases.

The liver is what does the work. We give it the nutrients it needs to do that.

As you may read, many with lyme are deficient in glutathione, a naturally occurring anti-oxidant that the liver makes. Many key liver support herbs or nutrients such as NAC, help the liver make glutathione to help in removing waste products from the body.

Because lyme is so toxic, there can be more waste, or toxins, to manage. This is why liver & kidney support matter so much as part of a good nutrition support.

The herb, Milk Thistle (or Dandelion if MT is too strong) is the basic way to start for many.

Avoiding processed foods, gluten, sugars, dairy (for many) also key as reducing inflammation. INFLAMMATION is the big thing to try to avoid and also think about any action will affect in bad - or good- ways.

In addition to avoid most processed foods, It's best to avoid all "vegetable" or see oils that are produced industrially (canola oil, corn oil . . . see post below on why - it's about inflammation.

where there is inflammation, there will be pain. And there will be dysfunction of body functions.

You would have to take charcoal at least 2 hours away from any other meds or supplements.
