Is this a fibromyalgia symptom? I had a cavity filled & then the next day I felt sick & the next day-chills, burning, tingling, numbness all over skin, joint pain, trouble with words, slurred speech, legs going in different directions. Skin sensation is all over now & joint pain/tenderness worse. Tongue is coated. eyes runny.

I read a study that if Lyme triggers fibromyalgia and treated w/ abx-fibromyalgia symptoms stay. It's been 5 months now. Had 28 days doxycycline-couldn't handle it well-strong but had a couple moments of feeling totally well. Then NSAID which lowered pain also.

I am having trouble coping with these symptoms as I didn't have much pain before w/ Lyme & it moved around or disappeared.

(breaking up the paragraph for easier reading for many here)

In your more recent thread asking about "fibromyalgia" where you also describe the dental visit,

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/137939

one reply over there by Kristyn is key:

Kristyn's question matters most right now: Mercury? This is a major matter to consider and, if so, action needs to be taken that might help so some degree. It would make a lot of sense in light of your symptoms.

Call your dentist's office manager. Ask if they have time to look up something from your chart. If this is more for a nurse, ask them to direct you to the person who could help you determine

which medication was administered in the dentist's chair that day & if it contained "epi" - ephinephrine.

and also what kind of filling was done. Ask for the name of it and the manufacturer so you can look up

a list of all the ingredients and how much of each ingredients.

Tell them you need this for your personal file while it's fresh in your mind.

They might be able to copy a page from your chart and send you a copy of that record.

You have a right to a copy of your medical records, or just one page, or that for just one visit.

But,. really, you should also be able to tell the dentist / their nurse if you are having adverse reactions.

They really do need to know.

They deserve the right to know so they can help you.

And you need their help with this. No one here, nor yourself, know know what's going on. It might well be that just the activity of the day was too much for you. It sure would be for most of us here.

Though it also could be that there is something else.

You need their help to either rule out or focus in on what do to now, in addition to serious rest and nutrition.

They may understand more than you expect. You are likley not the only patient they have with either lyme or complex medical issues.

For instance when I had trouble after a filling once, and I told my dentist, she then put in the front of my chart in bold marker "NO EPI"

That's how I learned how epinephrine can be so bad for me- and for some others with adrenal issues, too. And just about everyone with lyme also has adrenal dysfunction.

Epinephrine is in many anesthetics (not sure about anesthesia, though). Some discussion on why epinephrine (EPI) can be a rough ride for someone with lyme (especially if they have adrenal issues):

Do you have an LLMD you're seeing? I think you need some more Lyme treatment, and maybe also for babesia if it's causing the chills - and you mentioned night sweats in your other post.

Marie, did you get the metal fillings out yet? A biological dentist is great for doing that safely.
