Any thoughts out there about the effects of alcohol on lyme symptoms and/or herxing?

Thanks for the link.

Unfortunately, I'm more interested in actual experiences, not opinions.

I'm not a regular drinker by any means, but 6 weeks ago I had a large 'imported' beer and symptoms got worse.

They improved and then over this past weekend I had 2 glasses of wine...symptoms worse again.

Seems too coincidental to me. I just never put 2 and 2 together before and my LLMD didn't mention anything either.

Did you read through the link? I thought there WERE actual experiences. It might be that you have a problem with yeast...the alcohol would make it worse. The "herx" would feel the same as an abx herx.

There are actual experiences on that link.

Its not a good idea. Alcohol suppressese the immune system.

I drank off and on for about a year ( during treatment). All I can say is Im an idiot. Sure, I may have felt good while I was drinking, but the after effects are horrendous. And it just slowed down my tx.

I could have a few drinks like everyone else but I had hangovers that would make a grown man cry.Now I have a little lady like drink every once in awhile unless the meds Im on says not to.Ill get you a bumper sticker that says dont drink and lyme.Take Care,RG
