For goodness sakes, my urine smells like brussel sprouts!! This cannot be normal.
Also, my arm pits smell strange, too. I can't really describe it easily but like acidic?
What in the world could cause smelly urine and sweat? Anyone else have this issue?

I have this from time to time also......... but I don't know why. I eat a clean and healthy diet most of the time.

Maybe it's just living in toxic Virginia.

Well, there may be several toxic states here! There was a thread a while ago about this very subject. Topic possibly "smelly urine" or "stinky urine" !
I cant remember the results/conclusions other than you are not the only one!
I had that infrequently...I called it asparagus smell. I asked llmd, and he shrugged his shoulders, did not know, and said it was not uncommon.
Not too much help, but you are not alone.

I had periods, especially in the first year of treatment where my urin and sweat stunk. It coresponded with herxing, die off. Believe me, I was drinking a lot of water to help push all that stuff out.
I really don't get it that much anymore.

Do you take supplements? Alpha Lipoic Acid can give you urine that smells like asparagus, maybe Brussels sprouts to you

Supplements can definitely change your urine smell. I find my amino acids give it a really funky smell and make my perspiration smell more intense.
But if this is new, you should mention it to a doctor. It can be a sign of a kidney or live problem.
Has the color changed? Very dark or cloudy?

I must be the Queen of stinky urine. In my case it literally smells like hell: pure sulfur. I take seizure drugs and vicodin, that's what's causing it. Are you on any meds? Your body wants to detox, that can cause dragonbreath and all kinds of other stinky stuff. i take Superfood which contains chlorella, that seems to bind it a little, alsp destroxin might help with toxin elimination.
freshest greetings,

I think that stinky urine means more good than bad if you have lyme. Dead pathogens go into urine, plus many toxins.
The worst would be being sick with lyme and not having a stinky urine, in my opinion.
I'm about 90-95% well now, and my urine still stinks. I guess it will stink less when I get to 100% and stop treatment??

The only supplements I am on is an organic multivitamin, B12, milk thistle and Vitamin E. I am not on Abx right now either. I do take probiotics but that is new and the smell has been going on for a long time.
I am getting ready to test my urine pH. I probably need some tests for kidney and liver problems, too, but my blood work in the recent past did not show anything.

Are you on a high protein diet? Perhaps it is due to ketosis(fat burning-yea!)?
I am on a modified Atkins diet for life and get 'smelly' urine when I am being strict on it.
How do you feel? Hardynaka said they felt better but still had smelly urine so maybe this could be a good thing?
Hope it means good things for you, too!

I do feel better than I did at my worst. I am not on a high protein diet - I don't really like meat. Great suggestion though.

My LLMD said foul smelling urine is somewhat common if you are taking a lot of vitamins/supplements.
Also some antibiotics affect the smell & color of urine. I am taking Alinia as 1 of my abx, & it makes my urine a radioactive yellow color.

My sweat would smell so bad before I started on antibiotics that I hated to be around anyone. After I started the meds it went completely away. Now I do notice my urine smells. I had blood tests last week annd they indicated that my kidney functions were elevated so I had to have them done again. Will get the results tomorrow. sick

Yes, me too. I would say that there is a difference between vitamin induced stinky pee and otherwise though. I used to take a lot of supps (more than now) and it had a particular vitamin smell.
Mine smells bad often too, like it's rotten.
Both my GP and LLMD shrug shoulders.
Have been moaning about it for over a year and nobody seems to react, so I guess I should try to forget about it.

i think most of these symptoms are from a systemic yeast infection.
i had all these symptoms and more and could not find the cause.
mostly gi problems.
took vfend for 4 weeks 50% better 2 more 80% better and my lyme went away.
still on abx as precaution. don't know any tests for yeast, i guess they could culture your urine, but i did this one my own. from previous vfend i had and a very willing llmd.
the thing is it all makes sense!!!!!!!!!
