I need runners TODAY, TODAY!!!

Our Lyme bills HR 741 (House) and S1708 (Senate) are stuck in committees with only a day or 2 to get them on the agenda for a hearing. If they don't get scheduled, they will be dead for the 10th year, after so much work. Many people have been calling, but the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) is also calling, opposing the legislation. They are the medical society that denies the existence of chronic Lyme disease, serves as insurance company reviewers to deny treatment, and are under investigation for; possible antitrust violations by the attorney general of Connecticut. We need a lot more calls to counteract the IDSA.

Please call Senator Kennedy, Congressman Dingle and Congressman Pallone with this simple message:
"Please schedule the Lyme Disease Bill for a hearing."

That's it! This will take only 5 minutes, if that.

contact information:

Folks, don't be shy or meek. I loath politics but this is TOO IMPORTANT to sit idle.

These elected officials are in office to HELP us. Give them a call. I found their staff to be very helpful & willing to listen. The more who speak up, the merrier.

SO PICK UP THE PHONE & CALL, WRITE, FAX ETC!

I love this song: INVINCIBLE

http://youtube.com/watchv=Y8lJYN3FfC0&feature=related

Is a do or die situation....

Wont anybody help us......

Stand up and face the enemy.....

PEOPLE CALL PLEASE!!!

Here the lyrics:

This bloody road remains a mystery
This sudden darkness fills the air
What are we waiting for?
Won't anybody help us?
What are we waiting for?

We can't afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It's a do or die situation
We will be Invincible

This shattered dream you cannot justify
We're gonna scream until we're satisified
What are we running for?
We've got the right to be angry
What are we running for?
When there's no where we can run to anymore

We can't afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It's a do or die situation
We will be Invincible
And with the power of conviction
There is no sacrifice
It's a do or die situation
We will be Invincible

Won't anybody help us?
What are we running for?
When there's no where, no where we can run to anymore

We can't afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It's a do or die situation
We will be Invincible
And with the power of conviction
There is no sacrifice
It's a do or die situation
We will be Invincible

So, I made my calls, but when I called Congressman Dingle's office, they said that the Bill is being taken care of by the Committee for Energy and Health and he transferred me to a place where I got an answering machine.

I left a message about the bill, but I am wondering if I got to the correct place.

I MADE MY 3 CALLS JUST NOW!!
All were very receptive and NICE!! [Smile]
***************************

Ted Kennedy's staff member said they've had at least 100 calls today!!
*********************

Pallone's office said they were flooded. I told them I've had chronic lyme disease for 38 years; 34 yrs. MISDIAGNOSED by 50 drs.

Iowa doesn't have any chronic lyme literate drs. here so I was forced to go out of state for treatment costing me $1,000 travel expenses and $5,000 OUT OF POCKET MEDICAL.

Iowa's BCBS refuses to pay any LYME expenses.

Pallone's staff member ASKED FOR MY HOME ADDRESS!
************************************************

called energy no. who explained we are CALLING SEN. PRIVATE NO. THERE VS. ENERGY COMMISSION NO.

they've been flooded w/calls the last 2 days. before he transferred me over, I again told my above story.

he stated they are very SYMPATHETIC to us and have heard from all over USA on this problem.

got answering machine. I spelled out my name/address/state and told my above story.

in fact, at this time I WAS ON A ROLL and kept going until they said i had 15 seconds left. said bye...end of call. I WAS CUT OFF! [lol] [Big Grin]

i mentioned we need to get a hearing to get both sides of the issues out there for chronic lyme vs. idsa.

we need more money and cut back money on WEST NILE VIRUS AND BIRD FLU $$$$. [Wink]

Johnyb you didn't sound like an idiot....we have Lyme and it affects our words, THEY need to HEAR US an realize how sick we are, since we have borrelias in our brain.

Call your friends and family, ask them to make the call, let them know that you are seriously involved with the politics of Lyme..not only with the symptoms and complaining.

THANKS TO ALL FOR CALLING!!

HAVE HEARD LAST MINUTE THAT OUR CALLS ARE DEFINITELY WORKING !!!! SO CALL CALL CALL!!

Done -- although of concern: the guy who answered the phone at the Energy Commmission said that "he hopes the LDA doesn't lose its credibility because it has put out some misinformation"....good grief!
