Yesterday I had a colon cleanse (first one), and this morning I had a bm with blood in it. I was curious since I'm looking for "things", and felt I could go again. This time there was more blood.
I called the woman who did it, she said someone had told her they had a little blood, and that it could be from a hemmroid (sp) also. But if it persisted to call my Dr.(bad weekend for that).
After all this rambling, I guess my question is, has anyone had this experience? I was going to go the walkin, but it's my weekend to work, so decided not and if it still persists tomorow I'll go.
Thanks everyone.

How much blood? If there is a significant amount you should go to the ER ASAP.
Is it bright red, or is it dark, or brownish or black? Does it resemble coffee grounds?
If it is anything other than bright healthy red, like you would see immediately after you cut yourself, get to a Doctor right away. Also, if there is a substantial amount of blood, fresh red or no, get to a Doctor/ER ASAP.
If it's a very small amount, and bright red, but you are still concerned, I would consider making a call to the ER and getting some advice over the phone from an ER nurse, or going to a walk-in clinic for an in-person consult and eval.

Do you mean you had a colonic done or you took something orally that is supposed to cleanse the colon?
I am assuming colonic.
One time when I had a colonic, I passed a hemmoroid the next day, which the lady told me is very common for people to have on the inside and not know it.
I passed it at home. It looked like a gel-like white-ish blob, but there was blood attached to it.
So yes, people can pass hemorroids but I didn't have a lot of blood, just maybe some or a little.
Please update and let us know if more blood comes out. How much was it exactly?
I would not go back for another colonic until you find out what this was and you feel it is resolved.

Ketyl, was is just a small amount of blood on the outside of the stool? If so, then you may have a small rectal tear or a fissure. A tear is kinda like a paper cut on your bum (superficial). A fissure is more serious, may need sutures, can be farther up in the rectum also.
If you think that it is just a small tear, gently wash with soap and water and apply a topical antibiotic ointment 3xper day.
If you had a significant amount of blood mixed in the stool or in the toilet bowl itself then you probably need to see a doctor. If you feel fine now and have no more bleeding then you can probably wait until mon or tues to get in with your PCP.
And you should definitely hold off on the colon cleanse. Sounds like it was a little to harsh for your body.

hi all, Thanks for your responses. I had to go to work after I decided I wasn't going to bleed to death.
Actually, the 1st time it was spotted through the bm, and the 2nd I did have blood come out as if you had the runs. Not an awful amount, but more than I was comfortable with.
Today, just a small amount in the bm so think I'll live. I wanted to have another one next month, but now don't know if I dare to. I was kind of scared yesterday.

You should see a doctor ASAP. Really. At least, do call on Tuesday morning and get in to see a colon specialist.
Have you had a colonoscopy before? It may be time for that. At least time for a sigmoidoscopy. This could save your life if you have a polyp that popped or something.
From the sounds of it, it seems to not be coming from the anus or just inside the rectum as most hemorrhoids might.
Still, "blood come out as if you had the runs" sound like it could be very serious, even if it is now stopped.
You need to see a colon specialist. Everyone does, at some time or other, so now might as well be the time to get your bum over there.
