1 packet of double strength VSL #3 daily.

If you can get a Rx, and if you have insurance, you will have to pay the copay only.

My LLMD gave me Threelac. Said it's strong enough to only take 3 times a week. So far I'm good, still in the beginning though (5 weeks treatment).

You can test probiotics by putting the capsules in warm milk, cover it, and wait a day to see if it curdles.

I take Ultimate Flora Critical Care from Renew Life that I order through the Vitamin Shoppe.

I started with one cap at night and worked up to 4 caps daily....2 caps 2-3+hrs after my a.m. antibiotics and 2 caps before bed.

You can take as many as you need to depending on how much of a yeast problem you have.

I prefer THERAlac. www.theralac.com One or two pills daily will do it.

Don't eat sugar or refined flours... go easy on white foods!!!

sugar free candies and cookies are also bad

I take the Jarrow brand from Whole Foods. I take 4/day. I also drink 2 "shots" of the coconut water kefir purchased at Whole Foods per day. It has trillions of the good live cultures in each small serving...more than VSL #3. It is a new product and may not be in your store yet. Has an odd taste, but it's not too bad. I also eat one serving of plain Greek yogurt per day with one drop of vanilla flavored stevia and pecans and cinnamon. I really learned my lesson after my first try on flagyl. Now i'm REALLY careful!

cane... I always took one pill daily.

Right now I'm on Bluebonnet brand .. not sure it's strong enough. I've just been taking more than what the bottle says.

I also rotate that with Body Biotics. I may buy some Theralac again this month. I think it's really good stuff!!

I take VSL#3 and Florastor before bed.

Have recently added "Healthy Origins Probiotic" 30billion CFU per capsule at lunch. I take two capsules. Chose to add this one because it does not require refrigeration so I can carry it in my purse and take it wherever I am. It also got very good ratings on iherb.com. And is pretty cheap. I just wanted some extra protection since my doctor added another antibiotic to my protocol.

All I need is Kefir, a yogurt drink. It has the same enzymes as buttermilk - actually they taste the same so they probably are the same thing. No other probiotics worked for me.

I take PB8 which was recommended by Stephen Buhner either on his website or his book, I can't remember.

So far so good, knock on wood!

I agree that VSL#3 DS is great. One packet of the double strength (DS) has 900 billion bacteria.

Littlebit... be forewarned. PB8 is just about useless. Someone tested it once and it was "bad."

I took it for years while on abx and I had to battle yeast the whole time. NO one told me that stuff was C***. I've been off abx for 6 yrs and still battle yeast. I blame it on the PB8! (maybe I should be blaming something else, like mercury.... I don't know.)

I kept a clean diet the whole time... as clean as a human can manage anyway!

Lymetoo-I don't understand why Buhner would recommend it then, it's in his book. I haven't had any problems with it for the couple of months I've been taking it.

Thanks for the heads up though, I will keep it in mind next month when I buy more.

One doctor told me you should keep switching your probiotic every time you finish a bottle. I am currently using Bio-Kult which was recommended by my doc.

Florastor is good and an important probiotic but it's only S. Boulardi and you should probably take something else as well.

Happy to hear about the PB8 - I alternate that with Theralac and also take S. Boulardi (Florastor and NSI brand alternating).

I agree with that too.. wish I'd known many years ago!

I bought Enzymatica's Pro-Bio this time. I alternated it with the Bluebonnet last month.

littlebit.. yes, DEFINITELY alternate the PB8 if you're going to continue using it.
