Just a little frustrated. I've been taking high dose oral medications for over 15 months and I'm still dealing with the same annoying neurological symptoms...numbness, vibrations, weakness, and headaches.

In spite of this, my doctor is unwilling to try IV treatment. I feel like we are "pussyfooting around" instead of getting serious about knocking this out.

I'm just wondering if others are experiencing the same reluctance regarding IV treatment.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Will

Some drs are just not comfortable with doing IV. It may be time to move on if you are not improving.

I got well on orals, but it doesn't work for everyone.

Every LLMD is different. It's up to you to be an educated patient and fight for what you want. If you can't get the treatment you feel will benefit you, move on and find an LLMD that will work with you.

Doctors who have hard and fast rules, IMO, do not offer the best. We all know that a cookie cutter approach does not apply to this illness.

Also, I wonder what you mean by high doses. In order to pass the BBB the doses have to be REALLY high and combos usually work best.

IV will easily cross the BBB, but again, some people actually do better on high dose orals.

Sounds to me like it is time for you to do some doctor shopping. We all ultimately do.

I found some doctors do not have the right mal practice insurance to be able to prescribe the IV so keep that in mind. THe may not tell you that but I have dug and found that out..

I stayed on orals for 5 years and am going to move to another doctor to try the IV route.

I am not sure of what the difference will be and from what I read some people do not think it even is better at all an some do a lot better. You can only try..

Thats all we can do. WE all react so differently it seems.. so.. we just got to try different things.

I still have sadly.. not found what works for me..
