Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have neurolyme, which is a real nuisance I might add. Oddly enough, I've had this strange urge to vomit for weeks. The strange thing is that the urge is always there and my stomach never feels upset. My appetite is decent as well. Something in the back of my throat, close to the adam's apple, feels like it is ready to let go at anytime.
I'm taking 500 mg of doxycycline and 600 mg of rifampin per day. Could this be contributing? I've been on this combo before without feeling this way. Wondering if toxicity is a contributing factor. Maybe I just have to accept that I'm one strange dude.
Well being on Doxycycline certainly can explain the urge to vomit. That is, in my experience the #1 "feeling like you wanna puke" drug! Especially since you are on 500 of it, which I must say is very refreshing to see that someone is actually on a dose of Doxy that will treat Lyme, and not on the 200 mg/day (too low) dose. So, I would make sure you eat a full meal and lots of water, and THEN take the doxy, then eat some more! Make sure you don't lie down afterwards for 3 hours or you can get nasty nausea and heartburn.
When i took Doxy it felt like it was eating my stomach lining away and I wanted to puke 24/7 so you aren't alone!! if you can keep tolerating it, add more food in, then keep it up, otherwise you might need to switch meds. Good luck with this!!

When I'm on doxy, I get that urge a lot too, and sometimes actually do, but it's not a constant urge like you describe.
Increased intracranial pressure has caused me to vomit, too, usually at night upon lying down--I'd have to spring back up and run for the bathroom.
Another thing that has made me nauseous 24/7 is yeast overgrowth. Any chance that may be your problem? A few doses of diflucan made an enormous difference. With yeast, before treatment, I experienced a pressure sensation similar to what you describe.

Yes I kept bags and pan by the bed for when I had to lay down. Who would have thought.
