Is there any research or documentation that shows that the Lyme bacteria suppresses the immune system --- which causes a negative result on the Western Blot??

A lot depends on which lab does the Western Blot. Some labs don't test all the bands that they should.

Also, the CDC really has no business in establishing a "lottery" system of which and how many positive bands create a positive test.

This thread addresses many such concerns:

Still, there is plenty of research and documentation about how the immune system can be tricked by borrelia.

It's all in great detail in these two sources below (as well as in many other articles that others may come along and link for you). For a start, you can also do some cross searching with these names in with your other key words: Harvey . . . Martz . . . Alan+MacDonald . . . .

CURE UNKNOWN: Inside the Lyme Epidemic (2008) - by Pamela Weintraub

In addition to discussion of lyme politics, this details what an entire family went through. Having this knowledge of their journey will help others to get better, faster treatment.

Check your local library if funds are tight.

If funds are tight, you might see if someone in your local lyme support group could loan this DVD to you for a few days. I cannot tell you how important it is to see this film, and how empowering.

This fully-loaded DVD is updated with new data and an hour of bonus footage, including interviews with the filmmakers and subjects . . .

UNDER OUR SKIN

DVD is about $40 (by the time you add post). Worth every penny. It explains a lot.
