I thought I had read it is better to go to bed early than late, even if you end up with the same amount of sleep in the end? anyone heard this?
Can this make or break you? For example, anything wrong with me hitting bed from 11:30 - 7:30 as long as I get my 8 hours?

Most doctors I have seen say it's best to go to bed early. I have never been able to go to bed early.
I did find an article recently that said that different people have different requirements for sleep. They should just go with what they feel better doing. Some people are just naturally night owls & that they shouldn't worry about it too much.
For me - it would feel unnatural to try to force myself to go to bed at 10pm. I used to worry about it but at least these days I can actually fall asleep & stay asleep. I usually don't fall asleep until around 4am, though.
My schedule is OK with me waking up after noon. It's just hard if I have to do something early. I think it's a problem if you can't fall asleep.
I used to stay up all night & fall asleep as late as 10am. That's really bad. 11:30pm to 7:30am sounds very reasonable to me.

For some reason, most of the time, I feel my best late at night, so I take advantage of it and stay up until 1am everynight and sleep until 9am.
I was never good at going to bed early anyway and I would think no matter what your sleep schedule, as long as you get some sleep is fine.

Many people have different bio-rhythms. My son naturally sleeps better when he goes to sleep late around 11- 11:30pm My daughter needs to go to sleep earlier around 9:30-10pm They both sleep about the same length of time.
A homeopathic doctor told me that if you go to bed and are fast asleep by midnight or so, you will get this. But what do I know?

Yep, I am in bed and sleeping by 10:30-11:30 on most nights. My doctor said I should try for 9:30 though.
