HELP!!! Find a new doctor!!! One who will treat you until you are well!!!!
You should not go off antibiotics until you have had NO SYMPTOMS for at least 2-3 mo.

And some LLMDs say treat 6 months after being symptom free. Your doc is obviously not Lyme literate. Please find a LLMD!!!

Ditto what tutu and sutherngrl said. Best to find a doctor who is a member of ILADS.

I seriously doubt that your doctor was ever a LLMD.

wow, I know that's scarey to think your doctor is wrong and the folks here are correct.
But what if your doctor really is wrong?

- Yes, this can be very scary but not nearly as much as the thought of what could happen if you don't find a doctor who is really Lyme Literate and get on a proper treatment plan.
You need to see an ILADS-educated LLMD or LL ND (naturopathic doctor). The ILADS-educated or ILADS-member part if vital. Even if treatment paths vary somewhat, they know the science behind this very toxic and insidious spirochetal bacteria.
They've done the homework. They will stay with you until the infection(s) are adequately treated.
* Were you also assessed for other tick-borne infections? If not, that would be important.
So, while this may be upsetting, and it's not easy on many levels, you could avoid a much worse picture if you get to a proper doctor now.
As soon as you find someone ask if there is something you can do in the meantime.
Regarding some of what can help in the meantime (but is not enough) . . . Olive Leaf Extract . . . Allicin capsules (Garlic) . . . Magnesium (a very good brand - for pain relief) . . . Turmeric (for pain relief and as an anti-oxidant). Milk Thistle is help for your liver, as lyme is very toxic the liver really takes a hit.
It's best to avoid tylenol as that is very hard on the liver and ibuprofen is hard on the kidneys. NSAIDS also have some concerns. Be sure to avoid all alcohol and processed sugars, totally. And eat good food in it's natural state so you get all the colors of vegetables to help your body.
I'm sorry to have to tell you that there is still work to do but you still have a chance.
