Well this is a new one.

I woke up this morning and my belly button feels a bit stiff to the touch. At first I thought there was a lump in my belly button, but I believe its just that the inside is stiff and a bit swollen making it feel like a lump when pressed on.

Its a bit tender, so discharge, but (yes this is gross) it is stinky. I cleaned it with some peroxide.

I just started a round of abx 3 weeks ago-my tummy has been acting up which I know if from the abx-but this belly button issue, could this be yeast overgrowth in the navel? Is it possible to make it feel like a lump?

I have not been eating sugar or refined grains. I am now considering cutting all carbs and adding some anti-yeast sups or something...

This is kind of freaky because it is a bit tender-anyone have anything life this?

Interesting that you should mention this. I have had first a rash and then little scab like things coming out of my belly button.

I have been using antiparasitic herbs, salt/c and herbal tincture and have had the same thing happen last year under my breasts and my breast themselves.

I believe that Lyme disease has a MAJOR parasitic/worm component to it that has not been given enough attention to.

Treating with antiparasitics is what has helped me turn the corner with this disease.

Elley,
Do hot compresses to the navel, 20 minutes every two hours. Or as often as you can manage.

This will increase blood circulation to that area, and help it to heal.
The odor of the discharge might show that it's an abcess.

I will do that Carol, thanks.

I was hoping it wouldn't be an abcess, but who knows! All I know is its sore and hard feeling. Just another thing to add to the list haha.

Gael-I do plan on going on an anti parasite routine soon, after this round of abx is finished. I may end up starting it earlier if this persists. I have no idea why this is creeping me out so much...it just has me concerned I guess since I've never had an issues with this area before.

haha oh wow, Pinelady!

Well I was real gentle last night, I cleaned it with salt water, peroxide, and blew the inside lightly dry with a blow dryer. It feels a bit better today.

Maybe after you clean and dry it, you could put something like coconut oil or vitamin E oil in there to keep the moisture off of the skin.

I feel like it wouldn't be a bacterial infection-I am on Biaxin and Plaquenil, so I'm thinking its a yeast issue-kind of smelled that way too.

I am considering dabbing a bit of tea tree oil and coconut oil in there this evening. Just a drop or so.
