I've just started this journey and I'm so glad I was referred to this website! What a blessing!

I had a Western Blot test that came back Negative in January. My CD57 came back at 51.

My General Physician ran every possible test for other diseases and everything came back negative.

How long should I wait until I get another test done?

Is there anywhere that has a reliable test other than Igenex? I'm not wanting to spend tons of money until I'm forced to as a last resort.

Thanks!

Lyme is a clinical diagnosis.

You do not need a lab test to confirm it.

Here are some links for you but Massman is right, Lyme diagnosis is clinical. The testing doesn't rule out Lyme at all. Did you get bit by a tick?

The above posters are right.....Lyme Disease is a clinical diagnosis! The test are used to back up a clinical diagnosis. Only a good Lyme doctor can make that diagnosis.

Do you have a Lyme literate doctor(LLMD)? If not go to seeking a doctor section.

Well, were you tested for HHV-6, EBV, and Cpn at Focus Diagnostics lab? How about enteroviruses at ARUP lab? Those are often overlooked, and can cause the same symptoms as lyme.

See: www.hhv-6foundation.org and www.enterovirusfoundation.org for more info.

Best, Timaca

Which bands showed up?? Any???

I would treat with antibiotics for one month, then go off for 2 wks, then retest. That's what *I* would do!

Sometimes that will make more bands show up.

No, I didn't get bit by a tick (at least that I remember).

My Western Blot came back negative in January.

My doctor also tested for EBV, MCV, Rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid, and vit. D diff. All of which came back normal.

My CD57 test came back at 51.

My symptoms are:
Ringing in my ears
Sore throat
Nasal Congestion
Headaches
Blurred Vision
Stiff Neck
Joint popping/pain in my fingers
Bad Breath
Bleeding Gums
Forgetfulness, poor short term memory
Speech errors, wrong work
Mood swings, irritability, depression
anxiety
Acne
Bumps/sores on skin
Extreme Fatigue, itred
Insomnia
Nightmares- recurring dreams
Weight loss, appetite loss
Hair loss
Loss of libido
Constipation and Diarrhea
Yeast infections

This list covers all my main symptoms.

Here is my next question.... if my Igenex test does not come back positive, where do I go from there? How many doctors will actually treat you if you do not have a positive test?

Clinical diagnosis = your history, signs + symptoms. No chemical testing. Find an LLMD or LLND with a heart + a brain that will treat you. Must be ILADS trained.

Understand all the abbreviations ?
