Hi I was wondering if anyone can recommend which probiotics I should be on. I just started doxy 100mg twice a day last week. I bought some probiotics and have been taking them but not to refill soon enough and want to get the best ones. Also, should I be on more than one? Such as florastor and something else? Any guidance would be great. Thanks.

I like VSL #3 DS myself. It's a prescription though, so I'm not sure if all insurances cover it. If it is covered, and you ask your doc to prescribe max amount (4 daily), you'll save a lot of money, as you only need to take a partial dose daily.

Good OTC ones are theralac and culturelle. Although culturelle isn't probably enough all on it's own.

VSL # 3 combined with Florastor offers the best protection against c.difficile.

Also, why is your Doxy dose so low? Doxy has to be atleast 300 mg to treat Lyme disease.

He started me at a low dose because of my GI issues- which are quite severe. I think he plans on raising it or switching to IV in the near future..

My favorite are VSL#3 capsules. They are OTC, you can order them from the manufacturer online. I tried the VSL#3 DS packets for awhile but couldn't stand the foul taste and smell even when mixed in lemonade or cranberry juice.

And of course you need Florastor.
