So...I'm on 400mg of Doxy. I understand this is a pretty good dose. Dr. B's guidelines say up to 600mg can be taken.

My question is...I'm 6'2" and weigh 215-220. Is 400mg enough for me given my size?

I do feel a bit better than I did before starting treatment (currently in week 5.)

I tolerate the doxy well. I can take it on an empty stomach without problems.

I haven't herxed per se.

That's a good dosage. You might want to tell your LLMD to test blood levels of Doxy to be sure it's enough.

You're on the same level as I am, and I think that I'm seeing improvement. (We're about the same size as well)

Doxy works best on an empty stomach, although you'll read that some suggest taking it with food. This should be done ONLY if you cannot tolerate taking it on an empty stomach. Taking doxy with food lowers the amount of the drug that actually gets into your blood which lowers it's effectiveness.

I take my 200mg 2x daily with about 30 oz of water and I find that it's more tolerable that way.

I'm in week 8 of treatment and sometimes feel good, and sometimes feel really bad. I mostly suffer from muscle aches in my arms and weak feeling legs but I have to have faith that the medicine is working.

As Myco said, you might want your LLMD to test your doxy blood levels if you suspect your dose is not at a sufficient level. Good luck to you.

Thanks Paul. I take it on an empty stomach and try to eat at least an hour later. It bothered me the first week, but now I have no problems whatsoever.

I'm feeling pretty good these last few days. Still some symptoms (full ears, ringing ears, vision weird at times.) But fatigue and brain fog are gone!
