This is a HUGE discovery. Should be front page news! No wonder the CPN/Lyme protocol works for MS patients.

Discover magazine, June 2010...HERV-W is active in people with MS.
It is a Retrovirus...needed to fuse the placenta.
If it was a complete protein, it would need tryptophan. The "W" stands for tryptophan.
Calpain is greatly upregulated in MS. Its inhibitor, calpastatin is cAMP dependent.
***Calpain degrades all major myelin proteins.***
Calpain is required for osteoclast function (bone destruction) .
The present results suggest that PKC activation resulted in severe demyelination and partial loss of the oligodendrocyte-differentiated phenotype.
PMID: 9272635
"EPA reduces calpain activation, suggesting a specific effect on this proteolytic pathway. It will be important to identify whether this effect occurs in patients receiving EPA.

A lack of Omega-3 fatty acids in early life during myelin sheath formation may predispose the individual to multiple sclerosis in later life. The myelin sheath is the gossamer membrane insulating material surrounding nerve tissue. Deprivation of Omega-3 fatty acids to an infant during the critical myelin sheath growth period may weaken the nerve structures. Later viral infections could result in slow deterioration may years later.
Our studies indicate a role for apoptosis in a ***chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease*** and, by analogy, suggest that regulation of apoptosis may also be important in MS disease pathogenesis.
It is triggered by the P13K pathway, but is tightly regulated because too many cells dying too fast = our death from sepsis.
I'm pleading with you all...get on OmegaBrite and give it time...many months.
It won't work "overnight".
3 capsules a day in the morning with something "fatty" for absorption reasons.

OK OK OK, I will try the OmegaBrite again. Maybe 2 months wasn't enough.
3 caps in the A.M. with fatty... I'll say "nah" to the olive oil tablespoon for more enticement. Hmmmm...ice cream! Cream cheese! Whole-milk yogurt! Now THAT's supplemental motivation!
Marnie, any thought of how MANY months? It's kinda pricey...

Marnie, I thought you are supposed to take your fish oils at night. Also, if you are low in glutathione, won't you just oxidize any oils you take? I also thought you needed to improve your oxidation status before you could really benefit from taking the oils (or something like NT Factor). Thanks.

There are hundreds of articles describing vascular involvement in Lyme. Including arterial vasculitis. They have known this for a long time----they just refused to reference it. $$$$$

I think this is a fascinating article...it correlates with my own experience....i treated for years with abx and still remained ill...
once i stopped the abx and took high doses of Vitamin D and whey protein (which impacts the immune system in the gut and intestinal flora), I started to feel much better...I'm not well...but i went from 5 years of being in Hell to feeling like I can live my life again....
After reading this, I'm going to start taking probiotics as well...
I think it's also interesting to note that I never had "belly bloat" before lyme disease...since I've been ill, I've had this pooch that won't go away.....interesting....

I'm going to be honest and realistic...Give it two years. Sorry, I know OmegaBrite is expensive.
How about a nice piece of a healthy toast with REAL BUTTER (fat) - which also happens to contain caprylic acid)?
Example: cinnamon raisin whole wheat? (Cinnamon helps control glucose levels which would be boosted by the raisins...balance.)
Melatonin is "on" at night (anti-oxidant).
Cover the daytime (anti-oxidant effect)...etc.
OmegaBrite contains a little vitamin E to prevent the oxidation of EPA and DHA.
3 month supply of OmegaBrite lowered C-reactive protein to its lowest levels in years in someone I know.
Just a "begining" of the healing process.
"Achieving optimum health and balance in all of the body's systems often takes two years or more."
The soft tissues of the body are completely replaced every two years.
Virtually every tissue in the body is replaced in 6 to 7 years.
In other words, if you adhere to a nutritional regimen that eliminates dietary insults and makes available only the best of nutrients, you can essentially "reinvent" yourself in two years.
By then, the life style changes you have made will carry you forward to complete the job. The body can only create itself from the materials at hand. If you're supplying good bricks, you're going to get a good house.

Your right the foods we have let ourselves get by on for the last 30 years may be contributing to our inability to fight.
