I recently learned about Kombucha.

Is it safe to drink while on abx?

Should I still take probiotics twice a day as usual?

My LLMD said it was safe to drink with abx. I took my regular probiotics as usual. Some lymies have issues with fermented foods and if that is your case, wouldn't recommend.

The problem is, it's been taken off the shelves and won't be distributed until it is determined how much alcohol it has in it. It's labeled as 0.5% .... but might have 0.7%, or even 1%, so still negligible.

Many make it at home. I drink it regularly.

Still take your probiotics.

I actually felt worse while taking it. I believe it is like anything re: lyme. What works for some doesn't work for others.

I had to start slowly. It's detoxifying of the liver. I wasn't even sick when I started drinking it, but I was still so toxic from treatment that it would make me tired.

I started with small amounts at night. Now I can drink as much as I want with no problems.

But you're right, what's good for one isn't necessarily good for another.

my friend makes it at home for her autistic son and says that it really helps with his digestion. she suggested i try it for the probiotic benefits.

i didn't even realize they used to sell it in stores. that would have been more convenient! she sent me a video link on how to make it so i would make it at home.

she also suggested that i start with 1/2 oz - 1 oz per day at first and gradually increase it.

how much did you guys start with?

rene, i know what you mean about being different for everyone! i'll just have to try it out and see if it works for me [Smile]
