It is necessary to help make glutathione.
From what I've read and can remember, the folks at CPN help.org do recommend taking NAC forever. While in treatment it is supposed to help kill the CPN elementary bodies. After treatment it is supposed to help prevent new infections.
I take Jarrow Brand sustained release NAC. Two of the 600mg tablets twice daily.
Word of warning, these tablets taste and smell like sulfur. I dread swallowing them everyday but continue to take them because I like the idea of the sustained release form. If you buy NAC (jarrow brand) in the capsule form it does not have a strong taste or smell.

I guess it helps by boosting the immune system, helping detox and decreasing inflammation. I will give it a try, thanks
