Herx reactions usually become of shorter duration with time and the time between them starts to increase. You will also notice that you start feeling better as long as you are detoxing properly. The die-off needs to be dealt with daily.

They say everyone feels worse before they feel better but you have to be cautious that you are not have a reaction to the medication. Herxes should not be life threatening as they were with my daughter. She ended up in Emergency many times with cardiac issues. When she switched from Doxy to Ceftin, she started making alot of improvement.

It's really good to keep a daily diary of your symptoms because you'd be surprised at how you can forget even the major episodes when dealing with this.

What do you mean by "detoxing properly"? I have begun to keep a diary, because I noticed that I was forgetting, and sometimes, I can't even remember all of the medications that I have been on.

What do people do for detox?

My son is taking herbals for liver and kidney function and binders for metals. Burber, white mallow, chorella.

He also exercises Burrascano-style and drinks lots of lemon water.

We did one liver flush a month ago, but when he tried to drink the olive-oil/grapefruit juice drink this week he vomited-- probably because he is on tygical IVs.

What do people do for detox?

Yes, Pekana is a great detox! I was told to mix it up in the morning and drink it until noon. If you are taking a cyst buster like Flagyl it's important to burn off the alcohol before mixing it with water. Tinctures do contain alcohol to maintain stability and as a perservative.

Burbur is another great detox and helps with the herxes as well. I use both. Lemon water even without the olive oil is good and helps the liver. I add a little agave syrup just to cut out the acidity. Every other day I make a detox tea that has Milk thistle, dandelion and some other ingredients.

Some people swear by far infrared saunas as well. There are many ways to detox and this is a great site to learn about them.

Good for you, for keeping a daily diary, that will come in handy when you try new methods of treatment and to see how much progress you are making. [Smile]
