Anxiety is a symptom of low magnesium.

How much magnesium are you taking?

I def had/have anxiety / depression with lyme. And my magnesium levels are normal!

Not to discount Carol, she makes an excellent point.

Just don't forget that having health issues in general can cause you to be anxious and down. Mine is certainly a product of being sick for months.

My solution was Lexapro 10mg daily. What a difference! I'm actually sleeping! Planning on going back to work in 9 days, Lord willing.

You can't always count on lab tests to know if your magnesium levels are where they should be. It does help you relax when you take it before bed.

Anxiety was my primary symptom 7 years ago and on going since I was dx with Lyme a few months ago. I tried Ad's. Lexapro made me gain alot of weight, and effexor XR helped anxiety, but made me have strange thoughts. Does this symptom go away once Lyme is under control, or is it something that persists???
