I spoke to a naturopath today who told me to go to a specialist in Atlanta and get tested for mold, and if there's a problem, get rid of this first because removing amalgams and treating for Lyme regardless of protocol will be to no avail unless the mold is addressed FIRST.

I've known that mold can be a factor, but it seems this physician thinks it's really the number one thing that needs addressing before all others.

I'd like to know the consensus on this and if anyone out there has had experience with it.

I have read somewhere and can't find it right now that Dr. K says that without mold exposure or KPU (or in my case both) Lyme would not become chronic.

Personally, I don't think you'd get better from Lyme without addressing mold.

The toxins from Lyme are similar to the toxins from mold, so addressing the mold might help you feel better overall.

Sounds to me like you have a good doctor. Healing from Lyme is more than just killing Lyme bacteria.

Six...out LLMD has not given in to testing me for KPU, nor have they ever mentioned mold. How did you get tested?

I found mold in my mattress and he addressed detoxing it because it made me so sick when we got rid of it and I started detoxing (cholestyramine and Diflucan).

I was ART tested for KPU because I had no other way to get tested. I had no doctor to oversee it, so stayed on doses of the nutrients that are within recommended guidelines. I take Depyrrol and oil of evening primrose. After several months I started copper, too.

I have my husband muscle test me periodically for supps and I test very strongly every time for the KPU supps. He's not very good at it and even he can tell.

One more question if I may. I have read on KPU (awhile ago), and if I'm not mistaken, some of of the supps contained sulpher? When I did the DMSA, I found out I was allergic to it. Probably be a problem to be treated?
