i have been having dizzy spells really bad now for almost a week. When I get them it automatically brings on a panic attack. BP is 94/73 pulse 76. It is not contributed to eating cause I am eating and drinking plenty and still it is bad. Is there anything I can do for this. I have been in bed and try to get up and walk but they come on real strong....I think it is more lightheadness than dizziness. I stopped all antibiotics almost 3 weeks ago cause they were to strong for my gi. Dr is going to arrane having them done through the iV has they dont give me stomach issues that way, just some nausea.
Do you know what causes this??? Anyone? And what can be done?
Thanks.

- Lyme and other tick-borne infections can really clobber our inner ear (the vestibular system). Some meds also can clobber our balance system but it sounds like you are taking: nothing at all ?
The panic attack is from the inner ear alerting your brain that your balance is off kilter - and then the adrenals shoot out stress hormones like it's an emergency.. Signals get messed up.
ADRENAL SUPPORT will help the panic part of this. So will magnesium and B-6. Many drugs are toxic to the ears, so see links in the Tinnitus thread below about that. Most drugs to calm the body are toxic. There are better choices.
- warm (not hot) bath in Epson Salts can help - limit to 20 minutes.
- calming herbs like Milk Oat Seed (Herb Pharm tincture); Scullcap; Passion Flower - or others in the Sleep thread below.
3) go scent and chemical free with personal care and household products. BioKleen and Seventh Generation have good choices but avoid lavender. Lemon - if from real lemons - is okay.
4) Diet changes: Avoid gluten, dairy, corn and soy. Avoid ALL Additives, dyes, etc. Avoid all processed foods. Add fresh ginger to your soups, etc.
5) Avoid toxins in artificial sweeteners. Even a trace of aspartame or splenda can cause intense vertigo. Avoid MSG.
Google for all the names those can hide under.
6) Lie down at at 30 degree incline with head/torso elevated. This is the best angle for the inner ear.
7) When you walk, wear sturdy shoes and pay attention to your feet and keep your eyes on where you are going. Night lights are vital to your ability to know where you are in space if you get up on the middle of the night.

BPPV ?
Now, after all that, this could be BPV, benign positional vertigo.
Does it change with you change positions? If so, in that Tinnitus thread (or at Google) you can see links for BPV. There is a treatment that can help in that case. The Eply Maneuver ONLY works with BPV/BPPV, no other kinds of vertigo.
The Epley maneuver (or Epley's exercises) is a maneuver used to treat benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). It is often performed by a doctor or a ...

Topic: To everyone with cardiac symptoms please read !
Information includes details about POTS and NMH - variations in blood pressure when standing. Low blood volume can be a cause (but that is often from adrenal dysfunction).
Hypoperfusion (low blood flow) is also discussed. That can cause vertigo. -

- Tai Chi can be good for vestibular retraining when you are ready. Qi Gong is also good and involves less turning of the head.
It's nice to see what it's like on YouTube and then purchase for your daily use with your DVD player. YouTube denies him of his rightful due for all his research and work.
The DVD is very affordable - about the cost of one supplement - it's just about $20. and you get a book with it, too. The DVD is also much easier on your eyes - from your TV at a distance. The computer screen is much harder on eyes.
However, if the budget is just not able to manage this, my guess is that he posted this YouTube clips so that everyone could have have the basic details.
This 1 hour and 15 minute DVD plus 65 page illustrated study guide and eye chart was the surprise hit at the recent New York Yoga Expo and evidently with good reason.
