I have chronic Lyme and most recently been off of ABT for approx 4months, until last week. All of a sudden last week a felt awful again and I just thought the symptoms would subside w/o any prescription intervention. BUT, the symptoms oy worsened for about three days- so I was administered a dose of bicillin IM and within hours that day I was 85% better. A about a week later the same series of events occured.

I was wondering if the bicillin worked that quickly or was ia is just a fluke? I mean, I always thought hat I would herx before getting better?? Or, maybe this means that ixam relapsing real badly?? Either way, I have an appt with my llmd this month.

Thoughts???

Shouldn't you get continuous shots? not just one?

--------------------
First Symptom 9/09
Multiple docs, negative Labcorp test
LLMD: 1/10
Positive Igenex/CDC test

2/10-8/10 Amox, ceftin, zith, flagyl
Currently: Bicillin, Minocycline, still dealing with severe breathing issues

Several people on this board have become well with the use of Bicillin shots towards the end of their treatment. However, those people got at least one shot every week, for 6 months to 1 year. Some did 3 shots per week. I think it's possible that the Bicillin is really helping you. Keep getting those shots!

Misdiagnosed with CFS for 7 yrs. Diagnosed by LLMD in 2009. Aggressive treatment for 3 years with minimum improvement.

I recently started a new regimen after pulsing antibiotics for two years-- did not work for me obviously.

The new regimen includes Bicillin shots and I have to say that I herxed after my first one like I never herxed before, I could barely move, was shaking, chills the whole deal that passed overnight.

The next day I woke up with energy and a clear head. Now I do them MWF and I have been on them for almost a month. I can tell you that it has been nothing short of a miracle for me.

I am also on Babs treatment etc. so I can't say it is all the bicillin but I will tell you... I am not giving up those shots. I really am beginning to feel like I am getting my life back. I was lucky... I was bitten - got a rash immediately two years ago, and treated within a week. Was on ceftin for three weeks, relapsed and then was on 400 of doxy for a month -until I got to the last doc. I then pulse treated for lyme, babs etc and I made gains for about a year and then in the last year, my bart symptoms went nuts as well as babs and I think Lyme too.

Basically my doc explained it as if you miss the Lyme cycle when pulsing, you have missed it. I think that happened in my case. I also do not think pulsing for Babs and bart is wise. I think they reproduce too quickly. I really wanted the pulse to work as it was so easy really... but when I realized I could barely walk and had slept the last year... as well as a host of other symptoms, I needed to change things up. I heard so much success from Burrascano protocols-- I went looking for that kind of doc. And by God's grace, I was able to get in. In this area...

They don't think Lyme exists and I am so thankful for this medium as I had an acute accelerated case... God only knows where I would be.

Keep up those Bicillin shots... they have made so much of a difference for me.
