I was just recently dx with Lyme (estimate 30+ years) and gave birth to two daughters.

Youngest miraculously tested CDC positive on two bands and the Ped Rheumy (top ten in country) said prob a false positive, seriously!!! She is now in treatment w/ an LLMD.

My oldest definetly exhibits MANY of the symptoms I had at her age...and now we know it is passed on in utero.

With that being said, we cannot afford the IGeneX test however, I am wondering if I give her GSE or Olive Leaf (or something powerful of that nature) she "may" (although it's a long shot)test CDC positive (which is covered by our insurance)and we will have dx on a piece of paper (although I realize it is basically a clinical dx)

My question is: What should I give to her (that will really stir up the immune system) as to envoke a positive result. Additionally, how long/often should I have her on this before she tests for WB? Also what lab should I use, Lab Corp or Quest? She weighs 135lbs and stands 5'8".

Thanks for you help!

If I was challenge testing for Lyme only, I would use Cat's Claw and Andrographis. Maybe Garlic. You can buy them all online or at a vitamin shop. They are strong. She will likely herx.

The odds of a positive are still slim, but better with the herbs. I would treat for a minimum of one month before testing.

You don't state her age. She should get her test during her PMS week or her worst flare week.

As for herbs, start with lowest dosages one time/day. Work up to two times/day. If she's herxing, that is enough.

I have watched people utterly crash doing this, but they were taking like 5 herbs. Go slowly.

She may be a total pill. Remember, you're stirring her pot.

Lab Corp is one small step above Quest in my book.

Remember, the Igenex test costs about $200. Not sure if you knew that. (and yes, that is a lot if you don't have it! I know!)

I agree about LabCorp. Igenex is worth it, if you can manage.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

Someone mentioned that she needed to be on abx for at least 3 weeks in order to test accurately.

Is this true...I hate to waste $200 (when I can ever come up with it)!?

How do you convince a MD she needs the abx to do the challenge testing when you can't even afford an LLMD?

I have a leftover bottle of Doxycycline from one month ago..should I use that along with the herbs? I wonder if that would stir up the little buggers? Any thoughts?

Thanks!
