Hi all,

I would appreciate any feedback re.treating Chronic Lyme while dealing with Ulcerative Colitis.

I have a 20 year history of Auto-immune Ulcerative colitis. Anti-biotics usually set off the UC, which can only be controlled after a certain point by steroids, which of course ramp up Lyme growth.

I'm trying to find my way to doctor/treatment that can work within this catch 22.

Does anyone have any experience with this, or know of a gastro-enterologist anywhere who is Lyme literate?

Thanks!

I know that one person with lyme who also had crohn's disease wanted to see a certain lyme doctor and he recommended that she see Dr. J. in D.C. instead.

So, maybe he has had success with these kinds of cases. You could call his office and ask.

I will be surprised if you find a gastro who is lyme literate. I think you have a better chance of finding a lyme doc who knows how to handle the lyme patient who also has gastro diseases.

I control my Crohn's with Miracle Mineral Supplement and Low Dose Naltrexone. MMS is tough to take if you have Lyme, as it will kill quite a lot of it quickly, and it is hard on the Stomach.

MMS is not approved to treat anything, and the FDA has actually banned its sale and discourages its use.

I only have Crohn's so it works well for me.

I take Gastro Complete and Sea Buckthorn FSE made by NewMark. I beleive it's available at Health Food stores or google it.

I had C diff and gut issues for close to 3 years.

Tried many multiple things and went to numerous Dcotrs. This is the only thing that has worked. Even my ART Dr. couldn't fix my gut. I take 2, 2 x per day of the Gastro Complete which is a Probiotic and 1 2x per day of the Sea Buckthorn.

A Dr. that I'm currently treating with for gut issues prescribed this. This is the only thing that has made a difference. This Dr. treats colitis and many other gut issues.

I too would really appreciated the contact information for Dr. J in D.C. I hope that you get some relief Burgess and are able to find a specialist that knows and believes in the mess lyme can do to the gastro tract.
