Though I would get a neg or pos but no, I get band 41. Am going to spend the money to get IGENIX test done but my question is this: I got a big shot of Steroids a week ago from Rheumatology as I was in a horrible pain crisis. Is this going to interfere with the IGENIX Western? Should I wait 3 months to run the test till the steroid is out of my system? Also, should I treat with oral antibiotics first to kill off anything else that might be showing up in band 41 and then take the test? LLMD is willing to treat, thinks I should do IGENIX. Didnt answer about these questions.

You need the Igenex test for sure.

When we had our first Igenex, Dr. J indicated to continue on the drugs they would not make a difference.
We are now on drugs for 6 months and just reran the Igenex so I don't believe it matters for the Igenex tests.
In Dr. B's guidelines there are some tests where one should be off drugs for a couple of weeks but it was not the western blot.

I would call or email Igenex and tell them about the steroids---they could possibly mask the antibodies.
