Hi Gang!

Just wanted to know how Malarone is working.

Is it only working when the bug is replicating? Or does it even work when the bug is dormant?

I started Malarone two days ago for suspected protozooan disease like babs or smoldering malaria...etc.

First day 2 tabs malarone at once and yesterday evening 4 tabs malarone at once with Zithromax 500.

In the last night I had strong sweating, breathing difficulties, feeling like toxic substances crawl through my veins, very itching pustule on my feet, racing heart.

But the good thing is I have no more diarrhea which I had every day before.

So does anybody know how Malarone works? only working when the bug is replicating? Or does it even work when the bug is dormant?

So is an immedeatly herx possible?

Thanks a lot in advance...

I had a dramatic herx a day after starting Mep/Zith combination: it eased up eventually but I had a racing heart, chills, and a lot of neuropathic pain. Hang in

Just be careful it's not an allergic reaction. If the antihistamines don't help, call your doctor.

In answer to your original question, I would say malarone works all the time.

Sounds like it's working for you!!
