Doxycycline and a few days at the beach didn't mix with me even under shade a hat and 50spf. Dealt with the arms and nose with after sun care but my lips are KILLING ME! Tried medicated stuff, straight vaseline. Any other ideas?

- Vaseline - or ANY oil will make it worse.
ALOE - with no oil added, just aloe, is best. -

If the burns are bad you may need to have a doctor take a look at them.
Being fair skinned I've had many severe sunburns over the years but cannot remember burning my lips. Guess I've lucked out on that one. Burt's Bees Original lip balm might help soothe your lips. It is primarily made out of beeswax which will keep them moist. It also has a little peppermint oil which makes it feel cool when you apply it. This is what I would try if I was in your situation.
If you are not on any anti-inflammatories already for Lyme you might want to take some Ibuprofen now. And keep slathering on the aloe. Make sure you buy a bottle that doesn't have alcohol in it, just 100% aloe. The other ingredients will dry your skin out.
Also, try to find a bottle of Solarcaine spray. Have someone spray it on a couple times per day. This has been a lifesaver for me. It can be incredibly painful to try to put on clothes when you are so burned. This will at least allow you to get dressed. I've also been known to wear my bathing suit under my work clothes because it hurt too bad to put on normal undergarments. Now you know too much!
Feel better

Not for lips, but Gillete Cool Wave aftershave lotion.
When I was a teen I worked construction. I got a litle burned, shaved that night and I noticed later that night or maybe the next morning that the exact area I put the aftershave did not burn, even could tell that I didn't put it on that evenly. Been using it ever since.

You can take a bath in tea. My aunt who lives in FL used to do this for burns. Honey is also very good for burns. Try putting some of that on your lips. Google burns and honey.
I can just imagine how bad it is because when I was on doxy I would get a burn being in the sun for just a couple of minutes. I could not even get near a window. So it might be bad enought that you need medical attention.
