Have been tested several times for bartonella over last few years, always negative.
Just had LabCorp bartonella antibody test again 2 weeks ago - negative. But new Igenex bartonella FISH test came back positive.
Has anybody else been getting this test - any thoughts? Seeing lyme doc tomorrow.

If you go on Igenex website and click on "What Tests to Order" it is right at the top. The website wouldn't let me copy the info.

I wish I would have known about the newest FISH version, which detects B. quintana (the strain I most likely have). I didn't do IGeneX because they only tested for B. hensalae... This new one looks promising! Thank you, aileen and kitty, I think I shall try to get that test, now!

Saw my LLMD yesterday - he had not heard of the new test. Igenex should announce a new test to the docs that use them! I also see an integrative med doc and she was the one that mentioned the new test when I saw her 3 weeks ago. I asked her to order it so that I would have a result to discuss with my LLMD yesterday.
He was excited to hear about it but wanted a day to research how the test was developed before deciding how to treat me so he will be calling me tomorrow.

He said that the test is valid and I am adding zithromax to the suprax I am already taking.

This is a new test apparently at IGeneX. I am wondering how it compares in cost with the bart testing offered by Galaxy, which is quite expensive. Also, how the range of species tested for compares.

I don't see any new test on their site for this. Do you have to call them and ask for it?
