Hi there, I'm in search of a Lyme's Disease doctor in Missouri --- up around Kansas City, or in Kansas (around KC. KS).

I was bitten by a tick in 2008 - remember the red ringyrash thing around it and got sick shortly thereafter but no one has taken me seriously about it!

I've got aching joints, burning sensations in my feet, hands and skin, a tight sore neck, fatigue, hair loss and more.

They've tested me for everything else under the sun and so far nothing else is showing up.

I'm worried because I'm getting some brain symptoms now and not just joints and nervous system stuff.

I'm a little taken aback by the cost of treating this. Two of the doctors make you pay out of pocket and they will bill the insurance out of network, which is fine and dandy but I don't have thousands of dollars to pay out of pocket right now. And the other one isn't taking new patients.

I'm totally overwhelmed by how difficult it appears to be to treat the infection and the co-infections and overwhelmed by how much damage this causes to other parts of your body.

Now having read all about it, I know this is what my problem is... in some ways I'm glad because it looks like, in many cases, and through a lot of treatment and help, you can overcome this... but it sure appears to me that I'm going to spend a fortune getting healthy again.

This is aggravating that they don't work with insurance companies but I'm sure it's likely because of the insurance companies themselves.

I've been sick for two years and only am getting worse, so I know it's very important I get treatment and soon.

Sorry to vent but I just can't believe all of this and I'm angry that NO ONE listened to me in the beginning, when it appears this would have been more easily treated.

Plus, I was pregnant during this time and I hope that the infection didn't make it through to the baby?

You can try your state group at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/missourilyme/ and I'd recommend you contact the Lyme Association of Greater Kansas City. http://www.lymefight.info/

I'm sorry but I am no longer accepting any private messages due to my own battle with lyme.
