I am going to be moving in a month to Starkville, MS to attend graduate school and I am trying to find a doctor within a reasonable distance, either in the southeast or on the east coast.

I was diagnosed with Lyme when I was 10 (I am now 23), and it was treated with IV antibiotics for 6-8 weeks, however I have never felt the same since. I have suffered severe joint pain for the last 13 years, and have been told it was everything from tendonitis, to arthritis from old injuries.

The pain recently increased in severity, and is mostly located in my lower back and hips, although nearly every joint is affected. My soft tissue (tendons and ligaments) also hurt. I have seen a rheumatologist recently thinking maybe I had some type of arthritis, but I have had 4 sets of negative lab-work. So now I'm trying this route again....

I know of a doctor in California (where I am from originally) who treats chronic Lyme, however I would like to find someone closer to Mississippi to find treatment so I can avoid flying to California for appointments.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Sounds like you were not completely treated. 6-8 wks of IV wont' do the trick unless you caught it really early... and even then it's no sure thing.

I'll send you a PM with information.

Can one of you send me info on experienced Mississippi doctors as well? I prefer the Jackson, MS area if possible.

Thank you! ;-)
