Does anyone know of ANY endocrinologists that are LLMDs in the US. Preferably near Texas?

I'm on a steroid and want to get off but I also have lyme and I'm losing ALOT of connective tissue and muscle at an alarming rate.

PLEASE HELP [Frown]

I suggest you check in with the following:

Texas and other nearby support groups listed at the left with Support Groups

Sign up with your state's yahoo group at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/texaslyme - ask to be added

www.ILADS.org, the Lyme-literate medical organization

And hopefully someone will know something here -

May I ask a couple questions? Why are you taking a steroid? It's not a good idea for Lyme patients.

Also, why not just see a good LLMD who can treat you for Lyme and all of its complications? Lyme doctors can also check for hormones.

Welcome to Lymenet! I don't know of any in TX.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

When you call for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/texaslyme

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you (with Support Group info):
www.lyme-aware.org/texas.html
www.txlda.org

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
