Age 47 Male diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) for 20+ years, still unresolved.

Escalation of muscle weakness and joint pain in various locations in recent years.

Most extreme symptom is chronic migraines, caused/associated by/with chronic inflammation of neck and shoulder pain. Frequency increased to almost daily.

History of "come and go" IBS.

Unable to function without daily prednisone treatment.

Any direction would be appreciated.

I sent you some info for CT!!!

You need to get off the prednisone ... very dangerous to take when you have Lyme. Speak to your Dr about weaning off. You must WEAN, not just stop.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for CT.

Steroids are contraindicated for Lyme, because they suppress the immune system and cause Lyme to go deeper into the body. Consequently, the patient gets even sicker.

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease.

Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/connecticutlyme

Maybe they can help.

The top LLMD, Dr.H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
