Seeking a pediatric LLMD. My son was diagnosed in March and has been in treatment for Lyme since. I am interested in seeking a second opinion from a pediatric provider as he has been on amoxicillin and zithromax and I am interested in seeking stronger therapy. His current physician keeps putting this off.
I have contacted the famous Dr. J's office. They would not make us an appointment as they are booking into December. We are willing to travel 4-6 hours if needed. Any information would be great even if its natupathic or homeopathic. Thanks!

Breaking up the text for easier reading for many here -
Your dear son needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.
Also ask what age do the children have to be for these LLMDs to treat them. Some only treat older ones.
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
