My daughter who is 7 years old was diagnosed with Lyme disease a month and a half ago. She was treated for the disease, but is still experiencing this bizarre frequent throat clearing and dry cough. I am wondering if you could provide me with a referral to a LLMD? We live in North Liberty, Iowa (near Iowa City, IA) I was told by someone at the CDC that Lyme is endemic in the area this year, but so far, I have not been able to find a doctor here who knows much about Lyme and coinfections.

Your dear daughter needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
