I live in North Idaho and am hoping to find a LLMD in the North Idaho area. Willing to travel if needed but traveling seems to be getting more difficult for me these days so hope to find someone close. I have Medicare but no other insurance. Was seeing a dr in Nebraska where I lived before but he could never diagnose me with anything and he didn't really believe in Lyme. Really hope to find someone that can help with all this chronic lyme symptoms that I've been having. Thank you!!!!

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

I don't know of any LLMDs in Idaho or Montana.

You will have to call the LLMDs I sent you to find out if they take Medicare, but I don't think they take any insurance.

You might also want to call the Lyme Disease United Coalition at (800) 311-7518. They are very knowledgeable and might be able to help you.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
