My sister is desperate to find a lyme literate primary provider in the Rapid City, South Dakota area. Also looking for a lyme literate neurologist in the Rapid City, South Dakota area. Any recommendations appreciated. Thank you.

Please enable your PM (=Private Message) function so we can send you information.

I don't know of any in South Dakota. I do have names for MN & Iowa if she is able to travel.

Lyme disease and the co-infections which come along with it can cause all sorts of neurological problems. With treatment, those problems can be helped.

Btw - I know of one LL Neurologist, but he is in CT.

Your sister needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

They are far and few between, unfortunately. She needs to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/SouthDakotaLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Go to "my profile" near the top of the screen. Then, "edit profile."

Then check that you want to enable private messaging.

We only give out doctors' names through the private messaging system.

If you have edited your profile correctly, you will see an envelope icon above all of your posts.
