My mother's health has been deteriorating for the past 2 years, and after much research, many Dr's visits, surgery, several crazy diagnosis that I don't agree with, I decided to look into Lyme Disease. I want to have a good (great) Doctor test her for Lyme Disease and treat her if she is positive. Can someone send me information about good Dr's in the Northern VA/DC and even MD area? Thank a million.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for VA, MD & DC.
Your dear Mom needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately. She needs to go where they are.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.
