Hi, I'm a new member, not sure how to receive messages. Was seeing a doctor in Reston,VA. I was a 5-6 hour trip he wanted me to make every 4 weeks. It would totally wipe me out. Id have to find a hotel, stay the night then make the trip back. It would basically take me a good 4 days to recover. I live in Virginia Beach and I'm looking for a LLMD near me or half the distance away. Thank you for reading my Post, I appreciate Any help. Thanks

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.
I have names in VA and surrounding states, but they are still several hours away from you. Contact the VA Lyme Support Groups I listed below - they would know better.
In order for you to access your private messages, click on the flashing envelope (which signals you have them) on the upper left-hand side of the page. You will be able to read them and reply.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
