Hi everyone! I am a 32 year old female that has been having symptoms for almost 3 years, started a few weeks after my first child was born. I have had extreme fatigue, lightheadedness, headaches, severe eye inflammation (uvietis), numbness and tingling, pain in my neck, etc. I have seen lots of doctors and one recently suggested being tested for lyme (after this suggestion I found out that my parents lived in a highly infested tick area for years and that my mom and her dog had both had tick bites, one resulting in lyme disease (the dog)). I have found two LLMD's in my area, but both of them have 3-4 month waiting lists. Wanting to see if anyone had a recommendation for a doctor in MI or OH? I live in a suburb of Detroit but also have family in Columbus or Cincinnati, OH. Thanks so much.

Your symptoms certainly sound like Lyme. You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
