Hello everybody. Please help find a lyme literate doctor in the Memphis, TN area (Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas) . I have been sick with Lyme like symptoms for close to 2 years after a tick bite. A couple of months ago I had a wisdom tooth extraction and was put on abx for a week. I was completely symptom free for that week. Then the symptoms returned. I have been very sick with neuro symptoms for about a week now. Never had the bull's eye rash. Thinking about getting tested for Lyme and co-infections through Igenex. Please help find a physician who will be willing to do blood test through them. From what I understand in most cases doctors will not use such labs that use tests different from the standard CDC 2-tier test. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for VA, NC & MO.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

See this recent post regarding lyme doctors in Tennessee and surrounding states (Georgia, SC, Tenn, and Alabama):
I recommend you be willing to come north for good lyme treatment. If you are willing to come to the Washington, D.C. area, I know a good lyme doctor who can see you in a few days.
Let me know if you want the name. He will test through Igenex and other good tick-borne disease labs.
