Please send me a list of llmds in northern virgina. I need a dr that will accept medicaid. I was treated by an infectious disease dr with good results but years later the disease has come back. I can't afford to pay hundreds of dollars to a dr that does not take insurance.
Thank you.

I know of no lyme specialist that takes Medicaid or health insurance. There was one lyme friendly doctor who took health insurance, but now she doesn't either.
So, your best bet is to contact the lyme support groups in your area (see Support Groups on the left side of the page) and see if they know any lyme friendly doctor who takes Medicaid.
A lyme friendly doctor is one who has a regular medical practice but also knows a little bit about lyme and will treat a person long-term.
Generally, however, these folks don't know enough to cure a person. But, they will help you as much as they can.

I also don't know of any LLMDs in VA who take insurance, especially Medicaid.
PM sent with a few names in other states, but they are far from you and I don't know if you are able to travel. You would also have to call to ask if they still accept insurance.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
