Son has had neurocognitive lyme, sleep, memory issues for 17 years, treated often for lyme but it's persistent. I'm seeking doctor in the area. Thanks

It sounds like at this point he needs to get to the best lyme specialist he can see.
I don't recommend any docs in the areas you have listed (based on many patient reports sent to me). But, if you are willing to travel to the D.C. area once every 3 months, he can see a very good lyme specialist who can also see him rather quickly.
Let me know if you want the name.
I strongly recommend that you be willing to travel here. There are VERY few lyme doctors who are getting people well. Very few. You have to travel to see one of the very few.
Have you contacted the lyme Support Groups near you? See Support Groups on the left side of this page.
It may take time to hear from them, but this is another way to hear from local folks as to which doctors are getting people well.

Your dear son needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. He needs to go where they are. None in DE that I know of.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

Here is some information that I hope will help you and your son, bless his heart.
You can go to www.MarylandLyme.org and look under doctor referrals (menu on the left). There is a site with instructions on how to find a local doctor in all 50 states- alternative and/or traditional- along with lists of their names and contact information.
If you'd like to have ticks in your area tested for several diseases there is a FREE (saves hundreds of dollars) place to do it right now. Then you'll have an idea of what you are dealing with locally for future reference.
