Hello can someone help me find a Lyme doc for my little girl and I? Very sick and I have all of the symptoms . Have been jumping through so many hoops. I never knew what Lyme was and a doctor thought I may have and tested me but it was negative. This was 4 years ago . I need a doc that knows what to do and how to test me. Thanks in advance...God bless

I highly recommend you and your daughter see a LLMD as soon as possible. I'm sorry to say that you will most likely need to travel out of state to get proper treatment.
Texas is not a good place to get Lyme treatment. Please read the following thread about trouble getting proper Lyme treatment in Texas:
I can send you a recommendation for a LLMD that is out of state. You would have to do an in person visit initially, talk on the phone or Skype for 2 monthly appointments, and see him in person again after that. So in person first time, phone/skype the following month, phone/skype the next month, in person the next month. Repeat.
Educating yourself is key. Two great books are "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub and "Why Can't I Get Better?" by Dr. H. The documentary, "Under Our Skin," is very eye-opening and gives a quicker overview of important information. However, getting deeper education through the aforementioned books and *valid* research articles is essential.
Please send me a PM if you would like a recommendation for a LLMD who is out of state.
I'm terribly sorry you and your daughter are going through this. The good news is you found a wonderful support group. Welcome to Lymenet!

Both of you need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Please read the following about LLMDs and Texas which was recently posted about TX:
"Texas is not a great place to find a good Lyme doctor. Texas threatens its Lyme doctors and gets them to move or stop practicing without notice.
Then, if they start up again a year or so later, they do it to them again. So, there really are few Lyme doctors there and no top notch ones.
Because of the sorry state of affairs in Texas, many folks from Texas are coming to the East Coast for testing and treatment for Lyme disease and it's co-infections.
At least half of all Lyme patients travel out of state for their care. The doc is the key to the diagnosis and for getting rid of this horrendous disease. I can't emphasize that enough-the doc is the key."
Look at the following thread to read what other Texans wrote about trying to get proper care in Texas:
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.
To do that, click the pencil/paper icon, make your changes, then click "Edit Post". Thanks.
