If this is for a child, tell us that up front. Few lyme doctors treat children and very few treat young children like under age 12.
In your previous post 2 years ago, you were looking for a doc for a 6 year old child.
I don't know of any good lyme docs in your area. If you are willing to travel to the Washington, D.C. area, there are some good ones there.
If you want the name of the one I recommend, let me know. (But, he only treats children over age 11.) You only have to travel to see him once every 3 months. He will do Skype or telephone monthly appointments the other months.
There is really no wait to see him either which is rare. Good lyme docs often have a 3 to 6 month wait or longer. The best aren't taking new patients.
Many doctors treat lyme, but only a few know enough to get rid of it for a person. You have to find one of those few. I know the ones on the east coast.
I think you would be happy with the one I recommend. Especially if you have been sick at least a year, you can't mess around with just anybody.
The longer you have lyme before getting good treatment, the harder it is to get rid of and the longer it takes. So, I always suggest that folks go to the best lyme specialist they can possibly afford. That gives them the best chance of regaining their health.
This doctor's practice is basically 100% lyme disease. That is how a doctor gains expertise with this difficult to cure disease which is really a number of diseases.

Thanks for your reply. This is for myself. I was inquiring for my son 2 years ago and we went to Dr. H in Virginia. But now I'm looking for someone for myself. I'm willing to travel, especially within Virginia. Thanks!

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
