You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are. There was a good one in Tampa, but he retired.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Sorry to tell you but I do not believe there are any good lyme doctors in Florida now that Dr. C has retired.
I tell all Florida people to travel north to the D.C. area to get good care.
You are in a bad state for a lyme patient. The doctors in Florida say there is no lyme here! And they don't care that you came from up north!
So, contact all the Florida lyme support groups (see Support Groups on the left side of the page) and see where their folks are going for good care.
If you don't mind coming up north once every 3 months, I can give you a name of a good doctor with no wait. Let me know.
