Hi all. I'm in Ohio but am willing to travel for a LLMD. I was hoping for list of them in and around Ohio and the Midwest

Thx!

Try contacting Ann-Ohio.

Here is a post of hers:

And, go to the lyme conference in Ohio if possible. You will learn a lot at a conference where good lyme doctors speak.

The best lyme doctors are on the east coast where lyme is much more prevalent compared to Ohio and the Midwest. That's why people out your way come to Maryland and D.C. once they have tried the western Pa and Ohio docs.

There is nobody in western Pa. that I would recommend. And West Virginia doesn't have any at all. "The list" for Ohio has only 4 doctors on it:

https://sites.google.com/site/lymedoctors/ohio

So, the pickins' are slim out around your way.

I would want a true lyme specialist, meaning a doctor who just treats lyme or at least half the practice is lyme patients. And, I would want the doc to have years of experience treating lyme patients. (This is what it takes to develop a high degree of expertise in treating lyme.) And, I would want to know of at least one person (three is better) whom that doctor got well from lyme. That proves that they know enough to get somebody well.

Otherwise, you will likely treat and treat forever and never become symptom free.

Try contacting the lyme support groups in your state and surrounding states. See Support Groups on the left side of the page. See if they know anybody near you who is getting people well.

In my experience, there really are very FEW lyme doctors who know enough to get a person well, especially if they have had lyme for over a year. You have to travel to one of these few. I know a few of them, but they are not in your area of the country.

I already sent you lots of info on one of the very best docs in the U.S.

I already sent you the name of a very good one in MD.

PM sent for the Midwest.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/OhioLyme/info

Maybe they can help.
