Thank you in advance for your help, it's greatly appreciated.
I am looking for a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor in Vermont. It is a small state so if others know doctors they trust in the surrounding area I can work to make the drive.
Ideally a doctor specializing in headaches, neurology, is what I am searching for.
My main symptom is a chronic daily headache. It is known as New Daily Persistent Headache.
Thank you so much for reading my post. I know life is not easy when you're working against the weight of feeling unwell.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for NH & upstate NY.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
I don't know of any LLMDs or LL Neurologists in VT. Contact the VT Lyme Support Groups I have listed below - they would know better about VT. I only know of one LL Neurologist in CT and another in NY.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check the local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Thank you HopingAndPraying and Tincup for the advice I will be sure to follow up on it in my search for a doctor.
In the meantime I would like to know if I even have Lyme beyond my own suspicions.
Since it sounds like there are no LLMDs you know of in the area would it be a good idea to go to an Osteopath such as http://preventivemedicinevt.com/ who can give me the Igenex test?
I have heard there are false negatives on that test but there are no false positives. Is there anything special I should do to ensure I don't get a false negative/get the most accurate test possible?

I am sending you the name of a good LL Naturopathic Doctor in VT. Maybe she can test you.
Lyme Disease is a clinical diagnosis made by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD) based on medical history, symptoms, test results, etc. Write a new post in "Medical Questions" to ask about your specific concerns. People will gladly offer advice to help you.
