You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Hey, Holden! Welcome to LymeNet!
Regarding lyme doctors, do you want to know who is best or will anybody do? MANY doctors treat lyme, but only a very few have ever gotten rid of it for somebody. I know the docs who are getting people well in our area.
Were you recently bitten or sick a long time?
Let me know and I can point you to someone appropriate for your case. I am local to you and have been rid of lyme (and babesiosis and bartonella) for over 12 years now. Praise God!
I have been helping people find good lyme doctors for at least 15 years. I know all the docs in our area, and I have at least 7,000 emails from lyme patients, many of them telling me about their doctors. That is how I have amassed all the info on docs that I have.
I would be happy to share current patient reports with you. (Doctors change over time. Some lose their nerve and stop diagnosing and treating lyme patients properly. Don't want you to waste money on such a doctor.)
I wasted 2 years going to 2 doctors recommended to me who didn't know enough to cure me. One of these doctors is so bad it is pathetic. But, his name still appears on doctor lists for Maryland. (The doc who cured me told me, "I get all his patients. He doesn't believe in coinfections!")
Then, I read the Burrascano Lyme Treatment Guidelines, traveled to the Philly area to hear Dr. B speak at a lyme group, and then found myself a doctor who followed these guidelines.
That's how I got well. Then I sent at least 5 of my friends to Burracano type doctors and they all got well also.
That is why I believe in the Burrascano protocol. Lyme is difficult to cure. You have to find someone with enough expertise to do it for you. Otherwise you can waste a lot of time and money and take a lot of antibiotics and still get nowhere.
I strongly suggest you study this document to get your education on lyme disease:
Let me know if you want the names of the docs I recommend. We will help you here all we can.

Holden, FYI
Anyone having a recent (since last October 2016 and continuing) blood test in the State of Maryland, please let us know if you received this required notice or not. You can email me that information at [email protected]
I have been searching for the best lyme literate doc in the area. Found one (Dr. M) that looks promising, but she only takes patients 18 years +. I am looking for someone who takes children (7 year old). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am in Arlington VA, but would travel if need be.
